Umesh Shukla, the director of ‘OMG: Oh My God!’, has addressed the ongoing discussion around his film and Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’. Shukla clarified the situation by saying that both films explored similar themes and were not a case of plagiarism. He also dismissed the rumor that he had been bribed to stall the release of ‘OMG’, stating that it was simply gossip. Shukla emphasized that the play which ‘OMG’ was based on had been seen by the ‘PK’ team. Shukla observed that it is common for movies to share similar themes. He mentioned that it was unlikely anyone would do something unethical. Both films addressed the topics of religion and faith, and presented them in unique ways. ‘OMG’ starred Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar and presented its views via a courtroom drama, while ‘PK’ used an alien to make its critique.
