CID Season 2 is reigniting fan excitement by bringing back much-loved characters. After overcoming previous challenges, the popular crime series is embracing nostalgia with the return of familiar faces, creating a buzz on social media.
Shraddha Musale will reprise her role as Dr. Tarika, the skilled assistant to Dr. Salunkhe. Musale’s return has been highly anticipated, as she’s known for her forensic expertise and chemistry with Senior Inspector Abhijeet (Aditya Srivastava). Fans are thrilled, as evidenced by comments like “I am so happy and excited for Dr. Tarika’s entry into the show.” Musale appeared on the original CID from 2007 to 2018. Her television work includes roles in ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’ and ‘Mile Jab Hum Tum,’ demonstrating her versatility.
Janvi Chheda is also returning as Inspector Shreya. Chheda’s character, known for her strong presence and bonds within the team, especially with Senior Inspector Daya, showed her enthusiasm for returning in an Instagram post. “To new beginnings. Or rather, picking up where I left off… Yeah, that’s more poetic!” she wrote.
The latest season of CID has included several significant plot developments. The show faced initial criticism following the on-screen demise of ACP Pradyuman (Shivaji Satam) and the arrival of Parth Samthaan as ACP Ayushmaan. Fan response led to Satam’s return to his iconic role. Parth Samthaan’s time on the show concluded with a touching farewell.
The show has also been marked by unanticipated changes. Narendra Gupta, who portrayed Dr. Salunkhe, has left the series. Given Dr. Salunkhe’s exit, Dr. Tarika’s return gains even more importance, with speculation that she could be the next forensic lead.
The addition of Dr. Tarika and Inspector Shreya increases the ensemble cast of CID, with returning actors including Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, Dayanand Shetty, Narendra Gupta and Hrishikesh Pandey.
