The movie War 2, scheduled for release in 2025, is one of the year’s most anticipated films, set to premiere in cinemas on August 14th. The film’s cast includes Hrithik Roshan from Bollywood and Jr. NTR from the South Indian film industry. There is considerable interest in the film’s opening day box office earnings.
Advance ticket sales offer insight into the film’s expected performance. As of August 13th at 5 PM, ticket sales for the opening day had reached 111,000 across PVR INOX and Cinepolis. It is anticipated that the total number of pre-booked tickets might reach 175,000 by the release date. The opening day earnings in the Hindi market are estimated to be between 30 and 35 crore rupees.
However, War 2 faces competition in the Tamil market from Rajinikanth’s Kuli, which is also releasing on August 14th. While War 2 is experiencing strong advance bookings in Hindi, Kuli is performing exceptionally well in Tamil.
Sacnilk reports that as of August 13th at 6 PM, Kuli had sold 1,113,72 tickets in Tamil, compared to War 2’s 8,310 tickets. This significant difference in ticket sales is largely due to Rajinikanth’s widespread popularity in Tamil Nadu. Kuli is also outperforming War 2 in the Telugu market, despite Jr. NTR’s presence in War 2.
As of August 13th at 6 PM, War 2 had sold 271,364 tickets in Telugu, and Kuli booked 287,644 tickets. Across India, War 2 has recorded 517,356 ticket sales, while Kuli has reached 1,440,621.
Trade analyst Sumit Kadel forecasts that War 2 could earn between 28 to 32 crore rupees net on its first day in Hindi, potentially reaching 35 crore with positive reviews. Kadel also estimates a pan-India collection of 50 to 55 crore rupees, inclusive of Tamil and Telugu, and a worldwide gross of 90 to 100 crore rupees.
