Bad Bunny to headline Sony’s Marvel superhero movie El Muerto

Puerto Rican singer and actor Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio (well-known as Bad Bunny) will headline Sony’s upcoming standalone Marvel movie titled El Muerto. Notably, the actor is the first-ever Latino actor to headline a Marvel superhero movie.

The information was introduced by Sony Motion Pictures Group president Sanford Panitch at CinemaCon.
In the comics, El Muerto, often called Juan-Carlos Estrada Sanchez, is a wrestler whose powers are handed down by ancestry within the type of a masks. Previously within the comics, El Muerto has gotten within the ring with Spider-Man himself. It was introduced at CinemaCon that the movie will tackle the antihero on the verge of inheriting his father’s energy.

Sony’s adaptive rights to Marvel’s Spider-Man universe has introduced a number of iterations through the years, in the end merging into the Tom Holland-led MCU movie collection. El Muerto is ready to hit theatres on January 12, 2024.
