Anu Malik opened up about his career, acknowledging the impact of visual elements and collaborations with prominent actors on his success. He believes that the presence of popular faces like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan significantly contributed to the success of his compositions.
He expressed his ongoing efforts to honor his father, Sardar Malik, a musician. He feels that his father’s song ‘Saranga Teri Yaad Mein’ could have achieved iconic status if Raj Kapoor had been involved.
‘I am still fighting for my father. If my father had gotten Raj Kapoor’s face for the song ‘Saranga Teri Yaad Mein,’ it would have become a cult song,’ he stated. ‘I am fortunate to have worked with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan. You understand what I’m saying? In this country, what is visible is what sells. When the giants like Shah Rukh and Salman joined him, my tunes became even more amazing. I can’t deny this.’
He spoke about facing setbacks like being removed from projects and shows, and how he continued to persevere and seek out opportunities. He admitted his willingness to approach producers, requesting work, fueled by his passion for creating music.
