The union of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and singer Palash Muchhal has been thrust into the spotlight, not for joyous celebrations, but due to a sudden family health crisis and the ensuing online speculation. Reports indicate that wedding festivities were halted after Smriti Mandhana’s father suffered a serious illness during the event. This unfortunate turn of events sparked widespread rumors and accusations against Palash Muchhal, claims that have yet to be verified.
Following the disruption, Palash Muchhal reportedly sought medical attention in Mumbai for severe exhaustion after returning from Sangli. The emotional toll was evident as Smriti and family members began removing wedding-related posts from their online accounts. Providing a voice of support and urging caution against spreading misinformation, Palash’s cousin, Neeti Tak, shared a message. She emphasized the severity of Palash’s condition and pleaded, “Technology has come far ahead of humans, and people should not form opinions based on rumours. Pray for him.”
Earlier, on November 25th, singer Palak Muchhal, Palash’s sister, had requested privacy for the families given the health concerns of Smriti’s father and confirmed the postponement of the wedding, which was slated for November 23rd. The couple’s pre-wedding festivities had previously generated considerable social media buzz. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also sent a letter conveying his good wishes to the couple ahead of their planned marriage.
