India’s WPI inflation spikes to 13.11% in February: Govt knowledge

“The high rate of inflation in February, 2022 is primarily due to rise in prices of mineral oils, basic metals, chemicals and chemical products, crude petroleum & natural gas, food articles and non-food articles etc. as compared to the corresponding month of the previous year,” the federal government press launch stated.

The gasoline and energy section marginally eased to 31.50 per cent final month from 32.27 per cent in January. Petrol value rose by 58.33 per cent, HSD (High-Speed Diesel) gained by 53.59 per cent and LPG costs inched by 26.27 per cent.

The manufactured merchandise section rose 9.84 per cent in February, up from 9.42 per cent within the month prior.

The authorities will launch separate knowledge on the retail inflation or shopper value index (CPI) later immediately.
