The Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel will inaugurate the National Agricultural Fair 2020 to be held on February 23 from 4 to 23 February in the fruit-vegetable, upmandi courtyard, Tulsi Baradera, Raipur. The inauguration ceremony will be chaired by Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey and distinguished guests include Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Dahria, Rajya Sabha MP Mrs. Chhaya Verma, Lok Sabha constituency Raipur MP Mr. Sunil Kumar Soni, MLA Mr. Satyanarayan Sharma, Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal, Mr. Kuldeep Juneja, Mr. Vikas Upadhyay, Mrs. Anita Yogendra Sharma, District Panchayat President Mrs. Domeshwari and The Mayor, Mayor Raipur Mr. Ejaz Dhebar, Chairperson of the District Panchayat Dharsinwa, Mrs. Uttarakmal Bharti, Member District Panchayat Mrs. Savita Vinay Gendre, Member District Panchayat Mr. Inder Sahu, Sarpanch Tulsi Baradera will be held in the gracious presence of Mr. Tuman Ghivar.
This fair is being organized in an area of about 32 acres of the fruit-vegetable sub-station located in Tulsi Baradera. This three-day agricultural fair will include progressive farmers from different parts of the country besides Chhattisgarh. In the fair, modern methods of agriculture will be discussed with agricultural experts and an exhibition of agriculture and related departments is being organized.
A live demonstration of the ambitious Suraji village scheme of Chhattisgarh government is being performed here. In this demonstration, four components of the scheme - Narva, Garuva, Ghurwa, Bari are modeled. Apart from this, exhibition of various departments including fisheries, animal husbandry, sericulture is also being organized and discussion of experts will also be organized for advanced agriculture. The stalls are being set up at the National Agricultural Fair by Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Chhattisgarh State Seed Development Corporation, Kamadhenu University, Dairy Federation and Mandi Board. In these stalls, farmers will be informed about the public welfare schemes of the government run in their department.
Grafted plants of vegetables like pomato (grafted potatoes and tomatoes) will be the center of special attraction in the agricultural fair. To promote agriculture and food processing innovation and technology, an exhibition of products of progressive farmers and self-help groups of the state will be held, in which various products related to livestock development will be sold at minimum prices.
Farmers will be able to see the demonstration of a pneumatic planter based on modern technology to sow seeds out of the traditional seed drill sowing machine. Several new and modern agricultural implements will be displayed by the Department of Agricultural Engineering at the National Agricultural Fair, which will not only be useful for progressive farmers but will also be a center of attraction for the farmers who are taking forward their farming.
