Indian Gold Futures Cross ₹1.49 Lakh Mark as Market Opens Strong

The MCX gold futures for October 5, 2026, opened at ₹1,49,029 per 10 g, surpassing the ₹1.49 lakh milestone shortly after the market opened on Thursday. The previous settlement stood at ₹1,48,493. Within minutes, the price climbed to ₹1,49,343, an increase of ₹850 (0.57%). The session’s intraday extremes were a floor of ₹1,48,900 and a ceiling of ₹1,49,525.

Silver followed suit, with the September 4, 2026 contract trading at ₹2,27,920 per kilogram after a rise of ₹336 (0.15%) from the prior close of ₹2,27,584. The metal’s intraday range was ₹2,27,008 to ₹2,28,397.

On global exchanges, gold posted a 0.36% gain to $4,320 per ounce and silver rose 0.12% to $62.36 per ounce. Market experts point to the cessation of recent U.S.–Iran confrontations, which has pulled down oil prices and softened inflation fears. Additionally, the U.S. Dollar Index slipping below 100 is bolstering the upward momentum of both gold and silver.
