VinFast, the Vietnamese automotive manufacturer, is poised to launch a small electric car in India, expanding its presence in the market after the recent introduction of its electric vehicles. The company has filed patents for ‘Limo Green’ and ‘Minio Green’, comprising a compact electric car and a 7-seater EV. The Minio Green is planned to compete with the MG Comet EV and Tata Tiago EV. This vehicle will offer a unique proposition in terms of features, dimensions, and design, positioning itself as the most affordable EV from the company.
VinFast is focused on gaining a considerable share of the Indian EV market, having launched the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs. The MG Comet EV currently holds the position of the smallest and most affordable electric car in India, with prices ranging from ₹7.50 lakh to ₹9.56 lakh across its six variants. The Minio Green, patented by the company, is expected to be similarly sized. This small electric hatchback has a length of 3,100 mm, a wheelbase of 2,065 mm, and 13-inch tires.
