The Mahindra Thar (3-door) is slated for a significant refresh, with the launch of the updated model now scheduled for September 2025. Originally planned for 2026, the SUV has been undergoing testing, revealing details about its design and features.
The 2025 Mahindra Thar facelift will share design elements with the Thar Rocks. Expect a redesigned grille, new headlights, and an updated bumper on the exterior. New alloy wheels will be the main change to the side profile, and the rear will feature a new bumper and taillights. New color options are also possible.
Inside, the new Thar will see feature upgrades. A larger touchscreen infotainment system, an updated digital instrument cluster, and a new electric steering wheel are anticipated. It may also include ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera, ambient lighting, rear disc brakes, and Level-2 ADAS.
The powertrain options will remain consistent, featuring a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine, a 1.5-liter turbo diesel, and a 2.2-liter turbo diesel. The petrol engine will generate 152 bhp, while the diesel engines will offer 119 bhp and 130 bhp respectively. The transmission options will comprise a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. RWD and 4WD configurations will be offered.
