TVS is expanding its electric scooter range with the upcoming launch of the Orbiter EV, positioned as a more accessible option below the iQube. The launch date is set for August 28. The Orbiter represents a completely new design, developed with a focus on a wider consumer base compared to the iQube. While the specific details about the scooter are still under wraps, reports indicate that the Orbiter will be a basic, cost-effective electric scooter, likely powered by a hub-mounted motor. It is expected to serve as the entry model for TVS in the EV market. TVS has also secured trademarks for alternative names, including EV One and O. Considering the iQube’s multiple variants, the Orbiter is likely to be offered in various versions as well. The iQube’s price ranges from ₹1 lakh for the base model to nearly ₹2 lakh for the top-end version. Therefore, the Orbiter is expected to be more affordable, possibly incorporating a smaller battery, simpler components, and fewer features to achieve a lower price point.
