TVS is preparing to introduce the Ntorq 150, a more powerful scooter designed to broaden its lineup. The sporty scooter is expected to launch on Thursday, September 4th. The company has been releasing teasers to build excitement, most recently giving a glimpse of the scooter’s exhaust note, which is not a typical characteristic of scooters. As TVS gears up to unveil the Ntorq 150, here’s what is anticipated.
Design and Features: A recent teaser showcased the updated headlamp cluster. The T-shaped housing with a quad-LED setup provides the upcoming Ntorq 150 with a more unique appearance compared to the current Ntorq 125. The new model is also expected to move towards a Maxi-style design, foregoing the smaller design. In keeping with the competition, the scooter will likely have 14-inch wheels.
The Ntorq 150, as TVS’s flagship ICE scooter, is expected to come equipped with smart features. It may include a fully digital TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, powered by TVS SmartXonnect. Riders could use this for navigation, call and text alerts, service reminders, and other features.
Technical Specifications: The Ntorq 150 will most likely be powered by a new 150cc engine, marking TVS’s entrance into the 150cc scooter market, where it will compete with models such as the Hero Xoom 160, Aprilia SR 175, and Yamaha Aerox 155. The engine is likely based on the 159.7cc unit used in the Apache range. This engine is likely to deliver around 14–15 bhp.
Price Expectations: The TVS Ntorq 150 is expected to be priced competitively, possibly below Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom), potentially because its engine design may be less complex than some of its rivals. For comparison, the Yamaha Aerox 155 is priced at Rs 1.51 lakh, while the Hero Xoom 160 is priced at Rs 1.49 lakh (both ex-showroom).
