A SpiceJet passenger faced an embarrassing situation on a flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru, as they were trapped inside the lavatory for the entire journey. The airline apologized to the passenger and reportedly offered a refund. The dramatic event has left many in disbelief. The passenger was rescued after the flight landed at Bengaluru airport. Ground staff and engineers quickly opened the locked toilet door. The incident happened on Monday night, when the Mumbai-Bengaluru flight took off from the airport after a delay. The scheduled departure was 10:55 PM, but the flight departed at 2:10 AM. A passenger in seat 14D went to the restroom shortly after takeoff and was unable to exit due to a jammed door lock. The crew tried to unlock the door, but were unsuccessful. The crew then came up with the idea of providing comfort to the distressed passenger by passing a handwritten note through the door’s gap. The note asked the passenger to ‘not panic and stayed seated on the toilet seat’ until the flight lands in Bengaluru. A photo of the message landed on social media and went viral. The flight landed in Bengaluru at around 3:45 AM. Soon after landing, airport engineer went inside and broke the door open. The airline expressed regret over the incident and also issued apology to the passenger for the inconvenience.
