A SpiceJet passenger’s flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru turned into a memorable experience when they were inadvertently confined within the airplane’s lavatory throughout the flight. The passenger was eventually freed after the flight landed in Bengaluru, with ground staff and engineers opening the locked toilet door.
The incident happened on a Monday night flight, which had a two-hour delay, finally taking off at 2:10 AM from Mumbai. A passenger in seat 14D entered the restroom shortly after takeoff, only to find the door jammed.
Crew members were unable to unlock the door, so they passed a handwritten note to the passenger, asking them to remain calm and stay seated until the flight landed. The note was shared widely online, drawing various reactions.
The plane landed in Bengaluru at approximately 3:45 AM. SpiceJet offered an apology for the inconvenience.
