The incident took place on Monday night. The flight, which was delayed, finally departed Mumbai at 2:10 AM, though it was originally scheduled to leave at 10:55 PM. Shortly after takeoff, a passenger from seat 14D entered the restroom. The door malfunctioned and locked, trapping the individual inside. Crew members attempted to open the door but were unsuccessful. The crew slipped a handwritten note under the door asking the passenger to stay seated until landing.
The note, which gained rapid online attention, amused many. The flight landed in Bengaluru at approximately 3:45 AM, and the lavatory door was opened by airport engineers. SpiceJet has issued a statement of regret and has apologized for the passenger’s uncomfortable experience.
