Renault has introduced a 10th Anniversary Edition of the Kwid in India, celebrating a significant milestone since its launch in 2015. The Kwid, known for its distinctive SUV-inspired design, has been a key contributor to Renault’s success in India. This Anniversary Edition underscores Renault’s commitment to providing innovative and value-oriented cars.
The new edition incorporates several visual enhancements while maintaining the standard specifications, including the engine. Renault has also updated the Kwid range, including variant names and pricing.
Features and Price Points
Limited to only 500 units, this edition is built on the Techno variant and features over ten exclusive modifications. The manual transmission version is available at ₹5.14 lakh, and the AMT version is priced at ₹5.63 lakh (ex-showroom, all India). The aim is to offer a unique offering in the small car market.
A Budget-Friendly Dual-Tone Option
The Anniversary Edition offers two dual-tone color schemes: Fiery Red with Black Roof and Shadow Grey with Black Roof. It also includes black flex wheels, new door and C-pillar decals, and yellow grill inserts. Renault highlights that this Kwid edition is currently the most affordable dual-tone car available in India.
Interior Design
The interior cabin showcases an exclusive Anniversary theme, including seats with yellow accents, a leatherette steering wheel with mustard stitching, and seats with an Anniversary pattern. Premium finishes are applied around the infotainment system and on door trims. Illuminated scuff plates and puddle lamps further elevate the interior.
Kwid Variant Revisions
In addition to the Anniversary Edition, Renault has updated the entire Kwid lineup, renaming the variants to Evolution (formerly RXL), Techno (formerly RXT), and Climber. All variants now offer 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, and the Climber variant now includes 6 airbags, a first in the segment.
Price Adjustments
The Kwid’s new pricing starts at ₹4.29 lakh for the base Authentic MT. The most affordable AMT variant is priced at ₹4.99 lakh. The Techno variant is priced at ₹4.99 lakh (MT) and ₹5.48 lakh (AMT). The top-end Climber AMT dual-tone is priced at ₹5.99 lakh, ensuring that the entire range remains under ₹6 lakh.
