A new toll policy is slated to begin on August 15th, featuring a toll pass for one year at a cost of 3,000 rupees. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is actively working to prevent any fraudulent use of the new toll pass system. The scheme is currently designed exclusively for non-commercial vehicles. The ministry is connecting this scheme with platforms such as Vahan-e-Parivahan and other systems designed to identify commercial and non-commercial vehicles in order to prevent misuse. Initially, only non-commercial vehicles will be able to use the program. A system will be implemented to prevent commercial vehicles from using the new toll passes.
