Skoda is preparing to introduce the Octavia RS sedan to the Indian market, with an expected launch in November 2025. This performance-focused vehicle will be imported as a CBU, indicating its premium positioning. The price is anticipated to be in the range of Rs 50-55 lakh (ex-showroom), although official pricing will be announced later.
The Octavia RS will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine, delivering 265 bhp and 370 Nm of torque, the same engine used in the Volkswagen Golf GTI. This engine is coupled with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission and a front-wheel-drive system, including an electronically controlled limited-slip differential for improved handling.
The car is designed for performance, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h. The braking system includes 340 x 30 mm ventilated disc brakes at the front and 310 x 22 mm ventilated disc brakes at the rear. The Indian model will not feature the DCC adaptive suspension found in global versions.
The interior will include a 13-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, sport seats with contrasting red stitching and carbon fiber trim, aluminum pedals, a flat-bottom RS steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, heated front and rear seats, and an optional panoramic sunroof.
Safety features will include multiple airbags, electronic stability control, front assist with city emergency brake, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, driver alert system, and blind spot detection. The boot space is 600 liters, expandable to 1,555 liters with the rear seats folded.
Exterior design features include a new grille design with black detailing, sporty RS-specific front and rear bumpers, LED matrix headlamps, alloy wheels, new LED rear lights with animated indicators, a sports exhaust system, and a motion-activated tailgate.
