The Indian automotive landscape is about to undergo a significant transformation with a wave of new electric SUVs scheduled for launch in the next six months. Major players like Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, and VinFast are responding to the increasing demand for electric vehicles by introducing new models, many timed to coincide with the festive season.
**VinFast’s India Push: VF 6 and VF 7**
VinFast is preparing to launch the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs in India. The company is assembling these models at its Tamil Nadu plant using the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) method. The VF 6 and VF 7 are anticipated to offer a driving range exceeding 480 kilometers on a single charge. The company is already accepting pre-orders for both of these feature-rich SUVs.
**Maruti Suzuki Joins the EV Race: e Vitara**
Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to introduce the e Vitara. Production for both domestic and international markets will be handled at the Gujarat plant. The launch is anticipated in early 2026. This mid-size electric SUV will be offered in Delta, Zeta, and Alpha variants. It is likely to be available with 61.1 kWh and 48.8 kWh battery options, offering a range exceeding 500 kilometers on a single charge.
**Mahindra’s Electric Offensive: XEV 7e and XUV 3XO EV**
Mahindra is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with the XEV 7e, a three-row electric SUV based on the XUV.e8 concept. The XEV 7e is expected to boast features like a triple-screen setup, a panoramic sunroof, and ADAS technology, similar to the XUV700. Additionally, Mahindra is testing the XUV 3XO EV, which is planned to be positioned below the XUV400. Both the XEV 7e and XUV 3XO EV are slated for launch in the first half of 2026.
