The Indian EV market continues to evolve with constant innovations. Manufacturers are continuously improving their products through research and development. Ather Energy, a leading EV manufacturer, is introducing a new version of its premium 450 Apex electric scooter. This new model includes the innovative Infinity Cruise Control system. This update was showcased at the Ather Community Day 2025 held in Bengaluru. All new units of the 2025 Ather 450 Apex will ship with this feature and existing customers will receive the feature through an OTA update.
**Understanding the Infinity Cruise Control System**
The Infinity Cruise system is Ather’s proprietary advanced cruise control, designed to cater to the specific challenges of Indian roads and traffic. It offers three distinct operational modes: City Cruise, Hill Cruise, and Crawl Control.
**City Cruise:** This mode is engineered to sustain a consistent speed in urban environments, operating from low speeds to a maximum of 90 km/h. It remains active even when brakes are applied or speed is adjusted, automatically modifying the set speed accordingly.
**Hill Cruise:** Designed to make uphill climbs easier. On descents, it utilizes the Magic Braking System (which also manages Magic Twist), allowing the scooter to use regenerative braking to maintain a steady speed.
**Crawl Control:** This mode is designed to facilitate smooth riding at low speeds, like 10 km/h, on rough or uneven roads. The scooter also has Multimode Traction Control, ensuring stability on slippery or wet surfaces.
**Battery, Range, and Performance Specifications**
The 2025 Ather 450 Apex maintains its existing mechanical specifications. It is equipped with the same 3.7kWh battery pack, offering a range of 157km on a single charge. The 7kW motor delivers 9.39bhp of power and 26Nm of torque. The scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 100 km/h. It features five riding modes, including Wrap+.
**Additional Features and Pricing**
The 2025 Ather 450 Apex is a premium electric scooter available in a single variant. The ex-showroom price is approximately ₹1.90 lakh. It retains the minimalist design aesthetics of the brand, featuring a 7-inch TFT screen and Google Maps navigation. The scooter provides 34 liters of under-seat storage and 22 liters of front storage. In the Indian market, it will compete against rivals such as the Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube ST, River Indie, Revolt RV400, Ultraviolette Tesseract, and Oben Rorr.
