Mercedes-Benz has launched the CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe in India. This new model, available at a price of approximately 1.35 crore rupees, offers a blend of C-Class performance and E-Class luxury in a two-door coupe configuration. The car is immediately available for delivery across the country. The vehicle is powered by a 3.0-liter M 256M inline 6-cylinder petrol engine with twin turbocharging and an electric compressor. This engine features design improvements such as redesigned inlet and outlet channels, new piston rings, improved injection, and a larger exhaust gas turbocharger. These modifications allow for a boost pressure of 1.5 bar, generating 449 bhp between 5,800-6,100 rpm and 560 Nm of torque between 2,200-5,000 rpm. The engine also offers an overboost function that provides up to 600 Nm of torque for 12 seconds. The second-generation starter generator (ISG) integrated into the gearbox housing contributes an additional 23 bhp and 205 Nm, supporting the 48-volt mild-hybrid system, which aids in electric boost, load point shifting, sailing, and start-stop operations. The AMG Speed Shift TCT 9G automatic transmission is engineered with short gear ratios to optimize the engine’s performance. It includes rev-matched downshifts, multiple downshifts for rapid acceleration, and adaptive shift programming that adjusts based on the selected driving mode. The CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, and its top speed is limited to 250 km/h, with an option to increase it to 270 km/h. Inside, the cabin features leather and microcut microfiber upholstery, accentuated with AMG graphics and contrast stitching. The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster offers various display options, including the AMG ‘Supersport’ mode, which centers the tachometer and displays performance metrics like G-force, engine temperature, and lap times. An 11.9-inch portrait-oriented central touchscreen, running on the new MBUX system, provides voice, touch, and steering wheel-based controls. The interior is complemented by 64-color ambient lighting.
