Following the implementation of GST 2.0 reforms by the government, many cars have seen substantial price cuts. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire, a highly sought-after vehicle, has experienced the most significant price reduction. The Dzire is a leading sub-4 meter car, often competing with the Hyundai Creta in the sales market. The price of the Dzire has been reduced by approximately ₹80,000 due to changes in the GST tax slabs.
New tax rates have resulted in reduced prices across all car segments. Hatchback cars, for example, are seeing savings of around ₹40,000, and premium luxury SUVs are experiencing substantial benefits, with savings up to ₹30 lakh. Automotive industry experts are viewing these tax reforms as the largest price cuts in the Indian automotive market to date.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire sees the most benefit, with a reduction of up to ₹88,000, particularly on the ZXI Plus top variant. A similar trend was observed in the Maruti Swift hatchback, where the top-spec variants received the largest GST price cuts. The Dzire’s overall price cut ranges from ₹58,000 to ₹88,000, based on the specific variant. It is available with both manual and AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) options. The AMT variants see price cuts ranging from ₹72,000 to ₹88,000.
The new generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire includes notable upgrades in design and features. It features a new Z-series 1.2-liter naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol engine, replacing the older 4-cylinder engine. This vehicle has received a five-star safety rating from both Global NCAP (GNCAP) and Bharat NCAP (BNCAP).
The Dzire is also available with a factory-fitted CNG kit that operates in conjunction with the petrol engine. While the car is already a popular choice within the taxi segment, its upgrades and the GST rate cuts are anticipated to fuel increased demand from private buyers. Sales are expected to rise even further with the introduction of festive season offers.
