Mahindra’s BE 6 Batman Edition electric SUV, themed after The Dark Knight Trilogy, has achieved unprecedented success, selling out in just two and a half minutes. The initial offering of 300 units quickly demonstrated the high demand, leading Mahindra to increase production to 999 units. Even this expanded production run was fully booked in a matter of minutes.
The SUV’s appeal is rooted in its distinctive design, Batman-themed styling, and exclusive limited-edition status. This model underscores Mahindra’s expansion in the electric vehicle market and highlights the strong consumer interest in premium and theme-based electric cars within India. The sales launch began at 11:00 AM on August 23, and all units were reserved within 135 seconds.
The BE 6 Batman Edition showcases new cosmetic features, while remaining faithful to the standard SUV model. It features a unique satin black exterior paint job, custom Batman decals on the front doors, and “BE 6 × The Dark Knight” badging at the rear. New R20 alloy wheels enhance the aggressive look, with the suspension components finished in Alchemy Gold.
Interior design elements include features like the steering wheel, the in-touch controller, and electronic parking brake. The key fob is designed with a matching Alchemy Gold color. The iconic bat symbol is displayed prominently on the “Boost” button, seatbacks, interior labels, and the passenger-side dashboard pin stripe graphics. The Dark Knight theme is further extended with Batman Edition branding on racecar-inspired door straps, a Batman Edition welcome animation on the infotainment display, and custom exterior sounds inspired by the Batmobile.
The BE 6 Batman variant is based on the Pack Three model, equipped with a 79 kWh battery pack. This setup allows the electric SUV to achieve a range of up to 682 km on a single charge. The 59 kWh variant produces 230 bhp, while the 79 kWh version generates 285 bhp, both with 380 Nm of torque. The BE 6 supports DC fast charging up to 175 kW, capable of charging the battery from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
