In 2024, the Mahindra XUV 3XO was initially introduced in India as the XUV300. It’s characterized by a premium interior, advanced features, and several engine configurations. The ex-showroom price starts around ₹7.49 lakh and goes up to ₹15.80 lakh for the AX7 L Turbo AT variant. The diesel variant’s starting price is approximately ₹9.99 lakh.
To solidify its position and increase sales in the compact SUV segment, Mahindra & Mahindra plans to introduce the Mahindra XUV 3XO with hybrid and electric powertrains in 2026. This could be Mahindra’s first hybrid model in India, utilizing a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine along with a robust hybrid system.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is expected to be equipped with a compact 35kWh battery pack, connected to an electric motor. Both hybrid and electric models will likely have modifications, including ‘Hybrid’ or ‘EV’ badging, updated alloy wheels, and software enhancements for the instrument cluster.
The Mahindra Vision X concept SUV, which debuted on August 15, 2025, offers a glimpse into the brand’s upcoming compact SUV design. The design of the new-generation XUV 3XO is anticipated to be inspired by the Vision X concept and potentially built on Mahindra’s new NU IQ platform, which supports various powertrains.
The Vision X concept SUV has an eye-catching design. While design adjustments are expected in the production model, the concept includes a closed grille featuring the Mahindra logo, a bonnet, a coupe-like windshield, aero-optimized dual-tone alloy wheels, door handles, and black cladding along the sides. The launch timeline has not yet been officially revealed, but it is set to compete with the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Sonet in the subcompact SUV market.
