A passenger aboard a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru experienced an embarrassing incident. The individual was stuck in the lavatory for the duration of the flight. The airline has apologized and allegedly provided a refund, but the incident has been met with disbelief and humor.
The trapped passenger was rescued once the plane reached Bengaluru. Ground staff and engineers were required to open the malfunctioning toilet door. The incident occurred on a Monday night flight, which was delayed by two hours. The plane took off at 2:10 AM, significantly later than its original scheduled departure of 10:55 PM.
The event began when a passenger in seat 14D entered the restroom shortly after takeoff. The door lock jammed, trapping the passenger. Both the passenger and the flight crew unsuccessfully attempted to open the door.
As a creative solution, the crew slipped a handwritten note under the door, requesting the passenger to stay seated until landing in Bengaluru. The note quickly went viral, drawing amusing reactions from social media users. The flight arrived in Bengaluru at approximately 3:45 AM, at which point engineers were able to open the door.
The airline has acknowledged the situation and issued an apology for the passenger’s distress.
