A passenger on a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru had an unforgettable experience – spending the entire flight locked inside the lavatory. The airline has offered apologies and compensation, but the incident has become a source of amusement online.
The passenger was finally freed after the plane landed in Bengaluru. The ground staff and engineers were able to open the locked toilet door.
The event occurred on a Monday night. The Mumbai-Bengaluru flight was delayed, departing at 2:10 AM, two hours after the scheduled 10:55 PM. After takeoff, the passenger in seat 14D entered the restroom, only to find the door jammed, leading to a mid-air predicament.
Despite the crew’s efforts, the door remained locked. To provide comfort to the stranded passenger, the crew crafted a handwritten note. The note urged the passenger not to panic and to remain seated on the toilet seat until the flight landed in Bengaluru.
The note gained popularity on social media, and the public responded humorously to the situation. The flight landed in Bengaluru at around 3:45 AM. An airport engineer eventually opened the door. The airline expressed its regret and apologized to the passenger.
