A passenger on a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru had an unusual experience: they were stuck in the aircraft’s toilet for the whole journey. The airline has apologized and reportedly offered a refund, but the incident has amused many.
The passenger was released after the flight landed in Bengaluru. Ground staff and engineers opened the malfunctioning toilet door.
The incident happened on a Monday night flight, which was delayed, taking off at 2:10 AM, two hours after its scheduled time of 10:55 PM.
After takeoff, a passenger in seat 14D went to the restroom, but couldn’t open the door because the lock was jammed. The crew tried to help but couldn’t fix it.
To ease the passenger’s distress, the crew sent a handwritten note through the door, asking them to stay seated until the flight reached Bengaluru.
The note’s picture went viral online. People found the situation funny and admired the handwriting.
The flight landed in Bengaluru around 3:45 AM. An engineer opened the door. The airline has expressed regret and apologized to the passenger.
