A SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru turned into an unexpected ordeal for a passenger who found themselves trapped in the airplane’s restroom throughout the flight. The incident, caused by a malfunctioning door lock, led to widespread online amusement and required the intervention of ground staff after landing. The airline has expressed its regret and has reportedly offered compensation.
The passenger was eventually released when the plane arrived in Bengaluru. Ground staff and engineers were needed to force the door open. The flight, which was delayed, took off from Mumbai at 2:10 AM. The issue arose shortly after takeoff when a passenger in seat 14D entered the lavatory and was unable to get out.
Unable to resolve the problem, the crew resorted to a creative solution: they slipped a handwritten note to the passenger through a crack in the door, asking the passenger to remain calm and stay seated until the landing. The incident, along with the note’s contents, quickly spread across social media.
