BYD’s Yangwang U9 Track Edition has redefined the limits of electric car speed, clocking in at a staggering 472.41 km/h. This achievement surpasses the previous record held by the Rimac Nevera R, which hit 431.45 km/h. The record was set at the Automotive Testing Papenburg (ATP) track in Germany. This is the same track where Rimac had previously set the record. The Track Edition boasts improvements over the standard Yangwang U9 model. The hypercar’s performance is driven by four electric motors, each producing 555 kW (755 PS). The combined output is 2,207 kW (3,000 PS). It’s power-to-weight ratio is 1,200 PS per ton. The car utilizes advanced technology like the DiSus-X Intelligent Body Control System, which adjusts suspension and damping for stability. It features advanced torque vectoring for precise power distribution and runs on a 1200V ultra-high voltage platform.
