Ducati, a leader in the superbike market, has initiated a worldwide recall for its Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4 models because of a critical rear axle defect. This decision was made to address an issue that could impact rider safety, prompting the company to begin inspecting and replacing parts on affected motorcycles. In India, the recall affects 393 motorcycles, produced between 2018 and 2025. Ducati India is directly communicating with customers to provide free replacement of the rear wheel shaft. This action aims to prevent potential accidents and prioritize rider safety. The recall extends beyond the Indian market, with Ducati North America recalling over 10,000 units. According to documents submitted to the NHTSA, 11 cases of axle failure have been reported globally, with no incidents recorded in the United States. The root cause of the axle defect remains undisclosed, but it is suspected to be related to mileage or torque-related issues on the rear axle. This may occur during wheel or chain adjustments. Ducati has assured that all owners of affected motorcycles will be promptly informed, and their vehicles will be repaired without any charge. The company is committed to maintaining the safety and confidence of its customers.
