BMW India is set to raise the prices of its vehicles by up to three percent starting from September 1, 2025. This increase will affect all BMW models. The company has cited the dollar-rupee exchange rate volatility, rising manufacturing and transportation costs, and supply chain problems as the primary reasons for this price adjustment. These factors have collectively influenced the cost of BMW cars. Prices start from ₹46.90 lakh for the 2 Series Gran Coupe and go up to ₹2.60 crore (ex-showroom) for the XM Performance SUV. This is the third price hike implemented by BMW this year, with previous increases in January and April. These three price adjustments have resulted in an approximate 10% increase in overall vehicle costs.
BMW has seen strong sales in the first half of the year and is aiming to maintain its sales performance in the coming months. The company offers a range of both locally assembled and fully imported cars in India. Several models, including the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, 3 Series Long Wheelbase, 5 Series Long Wheelbase, 7 Series, X1, X3, X5, X7, M340i, and iX1 Long Wheelbase, are assembled locally at the BMW plant in Tamil Nadu. Certain models such as the i4, i5, i7, i7 M70, iX, Z4 M40i, M2 Coupe, M4 Competition, M4 CS, M5, M8 Competition Coupe, and XM are imported as completely built-up units.
Despite the price increase, BMW will launch new models during the festive season and provide various financial options, such as easy EMI plans, leasing, and buy-back offers, to assist customers. Even with the price increases, the customer experience and product quality will remain a priority.
