BMW Group India has achieved a significant milestone, becoming the first luxury car manufacturer in the country to deliver 5,000 electric vehicles. This achievement underscores the company’s success in India’s premium EV market. To celebrate, BMW Group India has launched a high-power charging corridor that stretches 4,000 kilometers, connecting Jammu and Madurai. The corridor features charging stations strategically placed every 300 kilometers along national highways and in prominent cities such as Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, and Madurai. In partnership with Statiq and ZION, the charging stations offer charging capacities ranging from 120 kW to 720 kW, and are conveniently located near cafes, restaurants, and other public spaces. The charging corridor is accessible to all EV owners.
During the initial six months of 2025, BMW and MINI experienced substantial growth, selling 1,322 electric vehicles. This resulted in a 234% year-over-year increase. EVs now account for 18% of BMW Group India’s total sales, with the BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase leading the way, followed by the flagship BMW i7. To enhance the customer experience, the brand offers access to over 6,000 charging points across India. The myBMW app allows users to easily locate and activate these charging points, providing real-time charger status and filtering options. Additionally, BMW has pioneered a charging concierge service.
