A SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru became the stage for an unusual incident as a passenger was trapped inside the plane’s lavatory for the entire journey. The airline has since apologized and offered a refund to the affected passenger. The passenger was only freed after the plane landed at Bengaluru airport, when the door was forced open by ground staff.
The incident occurred on a Monday night flight, which was delayed by two hours. The passenger, who was seated in seat 14D, was unable to open the restroom door due to a malfunction. The crew tried to assist, but the door wouldn’t budge. To calm the passenger, the crew wrote a note, slipping it under the door, telling the passenger to remain seated until the flight landed in Bengaluru. The note quickly gained traction on social media, drawing humorous responses from netizens. The plane touched down in Bengaluru at approximately 3:45 AM, and engineers were able to open the door. SpiceJet has expressed its regrets for the unfortunate experience.
