In a strategic operation targeting drug peddlers, Govindpur Police have successfully apprehended four individuals engaged in the illegal trade of brown sugar. The swift action, part of a dedicated campaign against substance abuse, resulted in the confiscation of 81 packets of brown sugar, ₹2,550 in cash, and four mobile phones. The arrested suspects are Gaurav Kumar (26), known as Amar, from Sheshnagar, Govindpur; Mohammad Imran (21), residing in Carriage Colony, Burma Mines; and Jambhuvan Mahto (24) and Lalan Manjhi (28), both from Tamulia, Kapaali, Seraikela-Kharsawan. These arrests followed numerous reports concerning the prevalence of drug sales in the locality. Interrogations have yielded significant leads about the broader network involved in brown sugar trafficking. Authorities are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the remaining associates of this group. The police department has pledged to maintain its vigilance and continue implementing robust measures to prevent drug-related crimes and protect citizens.
