A decisive encounter in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh has resulted in a significant setback for Naxalite operations, with twelve cadres confirmed dead. The security forces, a collaborative unit of the DRG, STF, and CoBRA, were engaged in an anti-Naxal mission in the Gangaloor forest area when the confrontation occurred. The operation, though successful in neutralizing a large number of insurgents, led to the martyrdom of three valiant DRG jawans and the injury of two others.
The martyred personnel, Head Constable Monu Vadadi, Constable Dukaru Gonde, and jawan Ramesh Sodhi, have been honored for their bravery. The injured jawans are receiving medical care and are expected to recover. Authorities have secured the encounter location, recovering twelve bodies of Naxalites along with an array of firearms and ammunition. This operation contributes to the escalating number of Naxalites eliminated in Chhattisgarh this year, bringing the total to 268. The consistent efforts by security forces in the Bastar region are yielding substantial results against insurgent activities.
