A significant medico-legal awareness and medical check-up camp was organized for the senior citizens of the Jhumritilaiya Old Age Home in Koderma. This event, facilitated by the District Legal Services Authority, Koderma, in accordance with the directives of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority, Ranchi, aimed to provide the elderly with essential legal guidance and healthcare services. The proceedings included a remote online observation of an inauguration ceremony in Ranchi. The executive chairman of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority inaugurated the Mother Teresa Clinic at the Nagri Old Age Home and participated in a distribution ceremony for medical facilities and other welfare benefits for the senior residents. The chief guest, the Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, emphasized the moral duty of every citizen to show respect to the elderly. He affirmed the District Legal Services Authority’s strong resolve to prevent the violation of senior citizens’ rights and to protect their fundamental freedoms. The judge eloquently stated that societal advancement is impossible without honoring elders, and the authority felt privileged to serve this segment of the population. He urged the younger generation to follow the guidance of their elders and to be attentive to their day-to-day needs. The Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority reiterated the authority’s readiness to offer free legal services to protect the rights and interests of the elderly. He pledged to extend maximum support for the comfort and welfare of the residents at the old age home. The Koderma Health Department organized and conducted medical examinations for all the senior citizens. The Principal District Judge directed the medical professionals present to conduct regular health check-ups and ensure that all necessary medicines are readily available. He also took the time to converse with the elderly residents, inquiring about their health and the general arrangements within the home. Moreover, in a joint initiative, the District Legal Services Authority and the District Administration provided essential supplies, such as blankets, shawls, caps, woolen clothes, sweets, and other necessary items, to the senior citizens.
