Authorities have uncovered a new safe house linked to terror suspect Dr. Muzammil, a key figure in the ongoing Delhi blast investigation, located in the vicinity of Faridabad. The property, a house in Khori Jamalpur village, was rented by Muzammil under the pretense of being a Kashmiri fruit trader, according to official sources privy to the investigation.
During questioning, the former sarpanch of Khori Jamalpur identified Muzammil, confirming the rental of the premises and the fabricated identity he presented. This discovery reinforces the investigative theory that Muzammil and his associates established multiple bases in semi-rural areas around Faridabad and Mewat, offering strategic advantages due to their proximity to major routes and institutions like Al-Falah University, while maintaining a lower profile.
Several witnesses have reported seeing Muzammil visit the Khori Jamalpur house multiple times, often with his accomplice Shine Saeed. These consistent visits have led investigators to believe the property served as a critical safe house or operational hub, playing a significant role in the alleged terror activities.
Compounding these findings, it has emerged that explosives were previously stored in a makeshift room in fields near Al-Falah University for about 12 days. Muzammil is believed to have personally transported the explosive materials to this interim site before their eventual relocation. The investigation is also focused on uncovering local support networks, including the alleged involvement of Imam Ishtiaq, who has been arrested for his role in storing the explosives. Investigators are exploring whether this assistance extended beyond mere storage to active participation in the movement or handling of the materials.
