Authorities in Delhi are investigating the death of Deepti Chaurasia, the daughter-in-law of prominent pan masala industrialist Kamal Kishore Chaurasia, found deceased at her family’s South Delhi residence. The 40-year-old was discovered in Vasant Vihar on Tuesday afternoon, with police suspecting suicide as the cause, possibly by hanging.
Reports suggest that Deepti, wife of Harpreet Chaurasia, son of the Kamla Pasand and Rajshree brands owner, was found by her husband. He reportedly rushed her to Safdarjung Hospital, where medical professionals confirmed her death. They have a son together, aged 14.
A written message, believed to be a suicide note, was recovered from the deceased’s room. It purportedly states that she holds no one accountable for her death, with a poignant line quoted as, “If there is no love and trust in a relationship, what is the point of life?” Police are exploring the possibility that domestic discord or family matters may have been underlying issues.
The post-mortem examination at Safdarjung Hospital will provide crucial details regarding the cause of her passing. Law enforcement has initiated an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Kamal Kishore Chaurasia is a well-established figure in the Indian pan masala sector, having built a substantial business over many years.
