State BJP President and Leader of Opposition, Babulal Marandi, has leveled a severe accusation against the Jharkhand government, claiming it is fabricating new crimes to conceal ongoing criminal activities. Marandi stated that the current government and its apparatus have made it a practice to manufacture offenses to hide the truth. Recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigations into Dhanbad’s illegal coal empire have uncovered shocking evidence. The most disturbing element is the alleged directive from influential police officials, who are reportedly benefiting from the coal mafia’s illicit wealth, to their operatives. The directive is reportedly to ‘permanently neutralize’ certain individuals being interrogated by the ED. The aim is to ensure that incriminating information does not come to light. Marandi claimed that conspiracies are underway to assassitate individuals providing information to the ED, thereby stifling the truth. He drew parallels to past incidents in Jharkhand where ‘evidence encounters’ were conducted to protect criminals. He referenced a former Director General of Police who was allegedly involved in contract killings and was widely considered the most corrupt police chief in the state’s history, a sentiment echoed even by members of the ruling party. Marandi urged the ED to be highly vigilant, emphasizing that in Jharkhand, the powerful who suppress truth often prevail. He concluded that when political power, the administrative system, and criminal syndicates align, the subversion of justice becomes a mere formality.
