In a candid conversation during Bigg Boss 19’s Family Week, Akanksha Chamola, wife of contestant Gaurav Khanna, shared her perspective on not wanting children, describing it as a ‘very big responsibility.’ Her remarks provided insight into her current life priorities and views on motherhood.
While speaking with Malti Chahar and Pranit More in the Bigg Boss house, Akanksha was asked about her plans regarding children. The discussion followed an astrologer’s visit where Gaurav Khanna had inquired about their family’s future. Akanksha stated clearly, ‘I’m not planning to have kids right now.’
She further explained her feelings, noting, ‘I haven’t felt that urge, and I anticipate it will remain difficult in the future. It’s just not coming from within me. I don’t feel a need for a child.’ Akanksha believes that if one needs to find numerous reasons against having a child, it indicates a lack of readiness.
Akanksha firmly denied being scared of motherhood. Her concern is about meeting the demands of raising a child. ‘Having a baby isn’t like making a simple dish; it’s a profound responsibility,’ she stated. ‘I’m not sure I can execute that duty effectively. It requires giving 100% at all times.’ She also pointed to her personal goals: ‘I am focused on my career and have significant ambitions. People can call it selfish if they wish; that’s their prerogative.’
Gaurav Khanna later joined the discussion and immediately defended his wife, stating she was not being selfish. This comes after Gaurav had previously shared with another contestant his personal wish to have children someday, noting Akanksha’s current reservations about starting a family.
