Odisha’s music lovers are deeply saddened by the loss of Humane Sagar, a highly popular Odia singer, who passed away at the age of 36. Sagar had been under intensive care at AIIMS Bhubaneswar for the past three days due to multiple organ failure. The hospital confirmed his passing on Monday night at 9:08 PM, noting that he did not respond to aggressive medical treatments administered by a team of specialists. His critical condition was diagnosed as a combination of severe pneumonia, acute-on-chronic liver failure, dilated cardiomyopathy, multi-organ dysfunction syndrome, and acute kidney injury. Sagar, who lent his voice to more than 100 Odia tracks, is being remembered for his significant contributions to the state’s music scene. Condolences have poured in from various dignitaries mourning his untimely departure.
