Sidhu Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU) marked its 9th convocation ceremony on Monday at the Dumka convention center. Jharkhand’s Governor and Chancellor, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, led the proceedings, presenting gold medals and academic degrees to meritorious students. The university proudly awarded gold medals to 78 high-achieving students and conferred doctoral degrees on 37 PhD graduates. A substantial number of 33,697 students were also granted degrees in absentia, recognizing their successful completion of their respective courses.
Tripti Shobha Marandi, a Mathematics student from St. Xavier’s College, Maharo (UG session 2021-24), was honored as the ‘Best Graduate’ for her outstanding academic record. The convocation provided a platform to witness the beauty of Indian culture, as many participants embraced traditional Indian clothing, adding a vibrant visual element to the significant academic milestone.
