In a bid to ensure a seamless electoral experience, election officials are being directed to undertake thorough mapping of voter lists. Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar highlighted the importance of linking current voter data with the 2003 electoral rolls to facilitate the intensive voter list revision program. This initiative is expected to significantly ease the process of filling out enumeration forms for a vast number of electors. The call for action came during a virtual meeting with Deputy Electoral Officers across the state. Kumar was unequivocal about the need for dedication in election work, stating that any BLOs found shirking their duties will be suspended and replaced. He emphasized that all election-related responsibilities are binding for officials at every level, with no exceptions. During the review, the Chief Electoral Officer closely examined the voter list mapping status in each district, offering practical guidance to overcome field-level impediments. A crucial directive mandates officials to visit polling areas, assess mapping issues directly, and implement swift corrective measures. The meeting also included a detailed presentation on the rationalization of polling stations, aimed at improving election management.
