A comprehensive capacity building program focusing on ‘Strengthening Evaluation and Assessment Methodologies’ was successfully conducted at PVSV DAV Public School, Jhumritilaiya, on November 8th and 9th, 2025. This event, organized under the aegis of the Central Board of Secondary Education, Patna Region, aimed to equip teachers with the knowledge and skills for contemporary assessment practices, thereby fostering a more effective teaching-learning experience as envisioned by NEP 2020.
The workshop was formally inaugurated by the School Principal and Site Director, Krishan Kumar Singh, through a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. The session featured expert guidance from resource persons Chandan Kumar Dubey, Mukesh Kumar Prasad, Mousumi Mallick, and Kumar Satish Singh. The students’ welcoming performance added a touch of warmth and enthusiasm to the inauguration.
Principal Krishan Kumar Singh’s welcome address highlighted the dynamic nature of assessment systems and the critical role teachers play in ensuring fair and effective evaluations. A total of 58 teachers participated in the intensive training, including educators from DAV institutions and four teachers from Jharkhand Public School. The workshop sessions covered essential topics such as new board circulars, standardized question paper design, evaluation matrices, and innovative approaches to classroom assessment.
Engaging discussions and hands-on activities enabled participants to critically examine and understand the recent changes in assessment procedures. The resource persons consistently stressed the importance of student-centered learning, competency-based assessments, and equipping students with essential life skills. The program concluded with a peaceful meditation. A vote of thanks was presented, acknowledging the contributions of the CBSE, resource persons, school administration, and all attendees. Principal Krishan Kumar Singh concluded by emphasizing the workshop’s significance in advancing holistic, skill-based, and learner-centric education aligned with the National Education Policy 2020.
