A sweeping anti-terrorism operation, considered the largest of the decade, has been launched across Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces are executing coordinated actions at over 100 locations spanning more than 60 areas, with a primary focus on dismantling militant networks and their local support systems influenced by handlers in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation aims to disrupt the financial and logistical networks that sustain terrorism, and to counter recruitment drives and propaganda emanating from across the border. Extensive raids have been conducted in districts including Ganderbal, Srinagar, Kulgam, Shopian, Budgam, and Kupwara, often involving Cordon and Search Operations (CASO). Security agencies are also investigating potential terror communication lines originating from within prisons in Srinagar and Kupwara. This intensified offensive, which follows earlier successful counter-terror measures in the Rajouri district, represents a strategic effort to eliminate militant structures, including overground workers, and to ensure long-term peace and security in the Valley. The successful thwarting of infiltration attempts along the Line of Control further underscores the comprehensive nature of these security efforts.
