A somber mood has fallen over the region following a fatal road accident that occurred early Thursday morning on the Khunti-Simdega highway. Two active members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Baba Amreshwar Dham Management Committee lost their lives near Pokla village while returning from the Ramrekha Mela in Simdega. The accident, which happened around 4:30 AM, also left five others injured. These individuals were rushed to RIMS in Ranchi for urgent medical care. The deceased have been identified as Anuj Kumar Manjhi and Shivdutt Manjhi. The injured passengers, including Prabhash Manjhi, Amit Mahto, Chandru Ram, and Sunil Kumar, were deemed to require advanced treatment at RIMS. Ranjit Mahto received prompt medical attention at Khunti Hospital and was later released. Police have taken charge of the bodies for post-mortem and are undertaking all necessary legal procedures. The BJP and the Baba Amreshwar Dham committee have conveyed their deepest condolences to the families of the victims, emphasizing their solidarity during this period of immense loss.
