As the political landscape of Bihar heats up for the 2025 elections, the financial standings of key leaders are coming into sharp focus. Latest disclosures indicate that BJP leader Samrat Choudhary is significantly wealthier than his prominent political counterparts.
Choudhary’s declared assets are reported to be in excess of Rs 11 crore. A substantial portion of this wealth, approximately Rs 9.30 crore, is attributed to immovable assets like land and property. His movable assets include considerable investments in the stock market and mutual funds (around ₹32 lakh), substantial bank balances (approx. ₹27 lakh), and diverse holdings in insurance and PPF schemes (₹18.5 lakh). Complementing these are Rs 40 lakh worth of gold owned jointly with his spouse, and over Rs 1.7 lakh in cash.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar presents a more frugal financial profile, with his total assets estimated at around Rs 1.64 crore. The lion’s share of this wealth, approximately Rs 1.48 crore, is invested in land and property. His liquid assets, encompassing bank deposits and cash, total roughly Rs 16.97 lakh.
These figures offer a clear comparative analysis of the financial strength of Bihar’s leading political personalities during this election cycle.
