The integrity of the Haryana Assembly elections is being questioned following serious allegations of voter fraud by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Gandhi asserted that as many as 2.5 million votes were ‘stolen’, with a significant portion involving the alleged misuse of a single individual’s identity. He revealed a photograph of what he described as a Brazilian model, claiming her image was used on multiple fake voter cards. These cards, under various names like Seema and Sweety, were allegedly used to vote at 22 different locations. Gandhi pointed fingers at the ruling BJP, suggesting they orchestrated the manipulation of postal ballots and the creation of fake voter IDs to gain an unfair advantage. A key part of his criticism was directed at the Election Commission, which he accused of failing to act on obvious duplicate voter entries. He argued that the commission possesses the capability to swiftly eliminate such duplications but has chosen not to, implying a deliberate endorsement of the alleged fraudulent practices and a significant blow to the ‘Congress lost’ narrative.
