Allegations of a government plot to assassinate him have been raised by former minister and veteran Congress leader K.N. Tripathi, who claims his police security has been deliberately withdrawn. During a recent encounter in Daltonganj, Tripathi was seen with several private security personnel armed with modern weapons, a move that surprised observers and prompted questions about the missing official protection.
Tripathi stated directly, “The government intends to kill me. They wish to silence my critical voice.” He further alleged that certain police officials are complicit in this supposed plot, emphasizing that the state has failed in its duty to provide him with security. “Protocol dictates that the government is responsible for my protection, yet they have removed my security detail. My safety is clearly not a priority for them,” he remarked.
He believes that recent charges of assaulting security personnel, including those under the Harijan Act, were part of a calculated effort to discredit him. “The accusations of assaulting security staff were part of a conspiracy. These legal cases were filed as a tactic to harm me,” Tripathi explained.
Clarifying the role of the armed individuals surrounding him, Tripathi stated they are devoted Congress workers, not hired security. “These are not security guards; they are party activists providing protection out of loyalty,” he said. He expressed deep trust in the public, saying, “The people of the Daltonganj region are my true protectors.” He asserted his fearlessness and the spontaneous nature of their support. “I am not intimidated. My workers accompany me voluntarily, and some of them carry weapons out of their own free will,” he noted.
Tripathi pledged to continue his advocacy. “My voice will not be suppressed. I will keep highlighting corruption and injustice. The government needs to provide a clear explanation for the withdrawal of my security and the alleged conspiracy,” he concluded.
